Lampuki Fillet Burger

Ch-EAT's take on the famous Filet-O-Fish using Malta's favourite fish.

Ingredients for 2 Burgers:

  • 150g Breadcrumbs

  • 1/2tsp Salt

  • 1/4tsp Pepper

  • 1/2tsp Garlic Powder

  • 100g Plain Flour

  • 2 Lampuki Fillets

  • 2 Eggs (beaten)

  • 2 Burger Buns

  • 2 Cheddar Cheese Slices

  • Tartare Sauce

  • Vegetable Oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl mix together the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Place the flour in a separate bowl and lightly cover the fillets with flour.

  3. In a 3rd bowl beat together the eggs and pass the floured fillets through the eggs. Remove the excess.

  4. Carefully coat the fillets with the breadcrumb mixture. For a thicker coating repeat the egg/breadcrumb steps.

  5. Heat up about an inch of vegetable oil and fry each side for about 3 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillet.

  6. Cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast. Place a cheddar slice, the warm fish fillet, tartare sauce, and close the burger.

  7. Serve with chips.
