Easy Swedish Meatballs

My very own easy version of the famous Swedish or ‘IKEA’ style meatballs. Also, I air-fried them to make things quicker.

Ingredients (makes about 20 balls)

  • 400g Minced Beef (you can use half beef & half pork)

  • 1 Small Grated Onion (or finely chopped)

  • 3tbsp Bread Crumbs

  • 1tbsp Finely Chopped Parsley

  • 1/2tsp Mixed Spice

  • A pinch of Ground Nutmeg

  • 1 Egg

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 1tsp Olitalia E/V Olive Oil

  • 1tbsp Butter

  • 1/2tsp Plain Flour

  • 1 tub (270ml) Elmlea Single Light (or fresh cream)

  • 1 Knorr Beef Stock Pot

Directions:

  1. Place the minced beef in a bowl and add the grated/chopped onion to it. 

  2. Following by the breadcrumbs, parsley, mixed spice, nutmeg, and egg.

  3. Season to taste and mix well.

  4. Form them into small meatballs and place them in your air fryer basket. 

  5. Drizzle with a little oil and air fry for 10 minutes at 180°c.

  6. Alternatively, fry them in some oil in a pan on all sides until golden brown. 

  7. To make the sauce, simply add a teaspoon of olive oil to your saucepan, followed by the butter.

  8. When the butter melts, add the flour and mix well until it is well combined.

  9. Add the cream, Knorr Beef Stock Pot, and freshly ground pepper.

  10. Bring it to a gentle boil then lower the flame. 

  11. Add the cooked meatballs and mix well. Adjust with salt if needed.

  12. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes. Finish it off with freshly chopped parsley.

  13. Serve with mashed potatoes, fries, or even pasta.
